Wild elephants on midnight rampage destroy houses of two estate managers near Valparai

A herd of wild elephants which entered the human habitations into High Forest estate near Valparai on the wee hours damaged the doors and windows of estate manager and scattered the household things in the house.



The herd numbering about three elephants then forayed into Nallamudi estate and destroyed the house of estate manager Jeyaraman. Consumables like, washing machines and fridge were damaged in the attack.



The couple scared off the elephants by using a clothe torches, but the elephants have already done the damage, when they were drive away.



Even though there is forest department camp near Poonjolai estate no alert was issued about the elephant movements in the locality.
