75 saplings planted on ‘Green Sunday’

Adamya Chetana, an NGO of which Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertiliser Ananth Kumar is the chief patron, celebrated the 75th Green Sunday, as part of their Sasyagraha campaign, on Sunday near National College Grounds, Basavanagudi.

The Minister planted 75 saplings.Office-bearers of the NGO said the campaign was started in 2015 to bring the tree to people ratio in the city to 1:1.

The NGO will plant more than 5,000 saplings at the Bio Park, Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University, on Monday. It claims to have planted and distributed over a lakh saplings till date.
