Coimbatore Police arrested two persons and seized around 67 kg of banned tobacco products in separate operations at Thudiyalur and Peelamedu.

The Coimbatore police arrested two persons in separate cases involving the alleged illegal sale of banned tobacco products in Thudiyalur and Peelamedu and seized around 67 kg of such products.
Acting on a tip-off, the Thudiyalur police conducted a search and arrested Abdul Rahman, 50, a native of Palakkad in Kerala. Police seized around 52 kg of banned tobacco products, including Hans, Vimal and Cool Lip, from him. He was remanded in judicial custody.
In another operation, Peelamedu police, led by Sub-Inspector Thiruvasagam, arrested Abinash, 24, a native of Ramanathapuram district, and seized around 15 kg of intoxicating tobacco packets allegedly meant for illegal sale.
Both were remanded in judicial custody.
