Coimbatore: Multiple developmental and emergency repair works were carried out today in Peelamedu area under Ward No. 27, North Zone of Coimbatore Corporation, falling under Singanallur Assembly constituency. Ward Councillor Ambika Dhanapal personally inspected these works and provided necessary guidance to the concerned officials.

The sewage cleaning work began this morning at Kallimedu Street in Peelamedu. As the sewage system was blocked in this area, comprehensive cleaning operations were undertaken. Councillor Ambika Dhanapal visited the site and instructed sanitation workers to ensure thorough cleaning of the entire sewage line. This intervention is expected to prevent health hazards for residents in the locality.

Similarly, a drinking water pipeline had burst at BRP Garden area in Peelamedu, causing water wastage. TWAD Board officials immediately undertook repair work. The Ward Councillor inspected this work as well and instructed the TWAD Board supervisor to repair the excavated road section with wet mix after completion of the work. This will ensure safe pedestrian pathways for the public.

Meanwhile, new stormwater drain construction work is progressing at full speed at Giri Amman Temple Second Street in Peelamedu. Since this area faced waterlogging problems during monsoon seasons, a new drain is being constructed as a permanent solution. Councillor Ambika Dhanapal inspected this work and instructed the contractor to complete the work quickly without causing inconvenience to the public.
