Over 50 B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering students from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute visited Aquasub Engineering in Coimbatore to gain practical exposure to advanced manufacturing, automation, energy-efficient pumping systems and Industry 4.0 technologies.

In a bid to bridge classroom learning with real-world industrial practices and provide exposure to modern manufacturing technologies and their applications in agriculture, an industrial visit was organised for students of the Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute (AEC&RI), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore.
The visit to Aquasub Engineering, Aqua Group, Coimbatore, was attended by 56 students and was conducted under the guidance of Dr. P. Rajkumar, Dean, AEC&RI, and coordinated by V. A. Sureshkumar, Senior Manager – Marketing, Aquasub Engineering.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the company’s operations and product portfolio, gaining practical insights into smart manufacturing, automation, robotics and Industry 4.0 technologies.
They were also familiarised with energy-efficient pumping solutions, variable speed drive (VSD) and smart control systems, as well as pump selection based on flow and head, faculty members said.

Technical guidance was provided by U. V. Ravi, General Manager – ASE Unit 4, and T. Thirumeny, General Manager – API & ASE Unit 2. The programme was supported by personnel from the Training & Service, ASE Unit 4, Safety & Electrical Maintenance and Design departments of Aquasub Engineering.
Dr. R. Mahendiran, Professor (Bioenergy), and Dr. R. Divya Bharathi (TA, REE), who accompanied the students, facilitated interactions between the students and industry professionals.
