51 Petitions Received at Coimbatore Corporation Public Grievance Meeting

Coimbatore Corporation held a public grievance redressal meeting chaired by Mayor Ka. Ranganayaki Ramachandran. In presence of Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS, 51 petitions were received from public regarding drinking water, roads, property tax and various civic issues. Officials were instructed to take immediate action on the grievances submitted.


Coimbatore: A public grievance redressal meeting was held today (18.08.2026) at the Coimbatore Corporation head office, chaired by Mayor Ka. Ranganayaki Ramachandran and in the presence of Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS. During the meeting, 51 petition requests were received from the public.



The Mayor and Commissioner received petitions covering various demands including birth and death certificates, road facilities, street lights, drinking water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, new water connections, name changes, and encroachment removal. Officials concerned were instructed to take immediate action on these petitions.

Subsequently, based on the request of one Shahul Hameedu who stated he was unable to run a Corporation shop due to family circumstances, his deposit amount of Rs.50,000 was refunded through a cheque handed over by the Mayor today.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioner Tha. Kumaresan, City Chief Engineer Vijayakumar, Health Officer Dr. V.C. Subash Gandhi, Town Planning Officer Thamodharan, Assistant Commissioners Prakash (Administration), Maheshkanagaraj (Revenue), Dakshinamurthy (East), Narmada (West), Mohanasundari (North), Ganesan (Central), Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Inspectors, Zonal Health Officers, Engineers and many other Corporation officials.
