Four Arrested in Coimbatore for House Trespass and Phone Theft

The incident came to light after the complainant alleged that four people, under the influence of alcohol, trespassed into his residence at Okkilipalayam and forcibly took away his mobile phone and those belonging to his friends. Following investigation,the Chettipalayam Police Station, arrested Four persons in connection with the case, and two mobile phones have been recovered from them.

Coimbatore:

Four persons have been secured by police in connection with an alleged extortion case registered at Chettipalayam Police Station in Coimbatore district, with two mobile phones recovered from the accused.

According to the police, the accused had consumed liquor together near Liya Bakery in Okkilipalayam on August 8. During the gathering, one of the accused allegedly told the others that some North Indian residents living in the vicinity were working for Flipkart and had stolen several mobile phones.

Based on this information, the accused allegedly trespassed into the residence of the complainant while under the influence of alcohol and forcibly took mobile phones belonging to the complainant and his friends.

Police subsequently secured the accused in connection with the case and recovered two mobile phones, identified as a Realme phone and a POCO phone.

The accused have been identified as Sabarinath (29) of Vellalur, Raja (29) of Konavaikalpalayam in Bothanur, Markesan (25) of Thiruthuraipoondi in Tiruvarur district, who was working at Liya Bakery, and Karthick alias Idea Karthick (23) of Sundarapuram, Coimbatore.

The case was registered under Section 308(4) and Section 204 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and remanded to judicial custody.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.

The operation was carried out by Inspector Selvaraghavan, SI Dinesh and Head Constable Prabhakaran, among others.
