Deadline Extended Until September 26, 2026 for Adding Names to Birth Certificates: Coimbatore Collector Announces

Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar announced that individuals whose birth certificates registered before and after 2000 do not have names can apply at Sub-Registrar offices and municipal corporations until September 26, 2026 to add their names.


Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has announced that individuals in Coimbatore district who wish to add their names to their birth certificates have been given time until September 26, 2026 to do so.

According to the announcement from the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine and the Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths, Tamil Nadu, those whose birth certificates registered before and after January 1, 2000 do not contain names can add their names, with the final deadline being September 26, 2026.


This opportunity has been provided under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2000. Those who do not have names on their birth certificates must apply at the concerned Sub-Registrar offices for births that occurred in panchayat and town panchayat areas, and at the respective municipalities and municipal corporations for births that occurred in municipality and municipal corporation areas.


District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has appealed to the public to take necessary action to add names within the specified deadline. People are requested not to miss this opportunity and make use of it.


Since adding names to birth certificates is essential for obtaining identity cards, education, employment, and various government services, the public is advised to fully utilize this opportunity.
