Those interested must register a day in advance with their original Aadhaar card, a copy and a refundable ₹10,000 caution deposit to obtain a bidding token for the auction.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police have announced a public auction of unclaimed vehicles that have been confiscated and vested with the government after the completion of legal proceedings.

According to the police, the vehicles were recovered from different parts of the district and registered under Section 102 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) or Section 106(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Following the completion of investigation and all statutory formalities, the vehicles have been declared government property and will now be disposed of through a public auction.

Only those holding a valid token will be permitted to take part in the auction.

Successful bidders will be required to pay the full bid amount, along with the applicable 18 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST), on the same day to complete the purchase and take possession of the vehicle.
