Five Bihar Natives Held with 15 kg of Ganja in Coimbatore

As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics crackdown spearheaded by Pavan K. Reddy, IPS, Superintendent of Police, the Coimbatore District Police arrested five Bihar natives and seized around 15 kg of ganja during a search operation at near Kinathukadavu.

Coimbatore: Acting on specific intelligence that ganja was being transported by bus for illegal sale, a team from the Kinathukadavu Police Station conducted a search operation at Arasampalayam Bus Stop on July 28.

During the operation, five persons were found allegedly in possession of approximately 15 kg of ganja, which was suspected to have been meant for distribution.

The arrested persons have been identified as Havibula (27), Moitin (25), Kadhir (40), Vasim (47) and Majebul (23), all natives of Bihar. The contraband was seized, and the accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

The District Police have appealed to the public to support the anti-drug campaign by sharing information on drug trafficking and other criminal activities through “Nizhal,” the department’s QR code-based confidential reporting platform. Information may also be shared with the Coimbatore District Police Control Room (94981 81212) or via WhatsApp (77081 00100). The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
