Minister V Sampathkumar Inaugurates Rs 10.69 Crore Development Projects Including New Sports Arenas and School Facilities in Coimbatore

Backward Classes Welfare Minister V Sampathkumar inaugurated various development projects worth Rs 10.69 crore across five zones of Coimbatore Corporation on Saturday, including school buildings, sports arenas, anganwadi centers, and a women's park for public use.


Coimbatore: Backward Classes Welfare Minister V Sampathkumar inaugurated and inspected various completed development projects worth Rs 10.69 crore across the North, East, South, West, and Central zones of Coimbatore Corporation on Saturday, opening them for public use.

The event was held in the presence of District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar, Mayor Ka Ranganayaki Ramachandran, and Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja. Various projects including Integrated Child Development Centers, public toilets, and a sterilization surgery center for stray dogs were inaugurated. The Minister also launched the rabies vaccination program for dogs.



Similarly, new classrooms at Veeriampalayam Corporation Middle School, an anganwadi center in Udayampalayam area, and an Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR & VR) laboratory at the Corporation Higher Secondary School were opened for use.

Near V.O.C. Ground, the Minister inaugurated and inspected a volleyball indoor sports arena built at a cost of Rs 1.96 crore, a kabaddi indoor sports arena constructed at Rs 5.15 crore, a wushu indoor sports arena worth Rs 96 lakh, and a badminton indoor sports arena created with private contribution at Rs 1.50 crore.



Later, speaking to reporters, Minister V Sampathkumar stated that world-class indoor sports arenas have been created with the aim of enhancing the skills of athletes. He expressed hope that through these facilities, students and athletes would participate in national and international competitions and bring glory to Tamil Nadu.



Subsequently, the Minister also inaugurated a women's park in the West zone, smart classrooms at Telungupalayam Corporation Middle School, and an AR & VR laboratory at Sugunapuram Corporation Primary School.

Earlier, the Minister inaugurated and inspected Integrated Single Point Service Centers established under the Tamil Nadu Rights Scheme at Gandhi Park and Bothanur on behalf of the Differently Abled Welfare Department.



The event was attended by Kavundampalayam MLA Kanimozhi Santosh, Deputy Mayor Ra Vetriselvan, Corporation officials, zonal committee chairpersons, council members, and many others.
