Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS inspected pipeline laying locations and sewage work sites for SUEZ company's 24-hour water supply project in the city. He directed officials to commence work immediately and also reviewed operations at Ukkadham sewage treatment plant.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS today (23.07.2026) personally visited and inspected the locations where pipelines will be laid under SUEZ company's 24-hour water supply project in the Central Zone, as well as areas where underground sewage work needs to be undertaken. He instructed concerned officials to commence the works at the earliest.
In the Central Zone, drinking water pipelines are to be laid under SUEZ company's 24-hour water supply project on Mettupalayam Road from Murugan Mill to ITI, on Trichy Road from Ondiputhur to Oppanakara Street and Bodis Junction, and on Avinashi Road from P.S.G. Arts College to Thandumariamman Temple.

The Corporation Commissioner personally visited and inspected the locations where drinking water pipelines will be laid and areas where underground sewage works need to be undertaken, directing concerned officials to begin work immediately. This project is being implemented to enhance the city's water supply distribution system.
Earlier, the Corporation Commissioner visited the sewage treatment plant located in Ukkadham Pullukadu area in Ward No. 86 of the South Zone to inspect its operations. He examined whether the equipment monitoring the treated water was functioning properly.
During these inspections, Deputy City Engineer Ezhil (Engineering), Assistant Executive Engineer Saravankumar (Engineering), Councillor Saravankumar, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran, Assistant Engineers Ravikannan and Sathivel, SUEZ Project Management Director Gopalakrishnan, SUEZ Manager Sangaram Patnaik, SUEZ company officials, and several Corporation officials were present.
The 24-hour water supply project has been planned to ensure continuous water supply to all areas of the city. Through this project, city residents will receive quality drinking water and the water distribution system will be modernized.
