Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja conducted an extensive field inspection of newly constructed sewage treatment plants and various infrastructure development projects across South and West zones of Coimbatore Corporation on July 15, 2026.

The Commissioner visited two key locations where new sewage treatment plants are under construction - one in Sokkambudur under Ward No. 77 of the South Zone, and another in Jeevanagar, Kavundampalayam under Ward No. 33 of the West Zone. He thoroughly examined the ongoing construction activities at both facilities and assessed the progress of work.

During his inspection tour, Katta Ravi Teja also reviewed the underground sewage project works being executed by Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) in the residential areas of Vidhya Colony, Kavundampalayam, which falls under Ward No. 34 of the West Zone. The Commissioner interacted directly with local residents to understand their concerns regarding drinking water supply and solid waste management, ensuring that civic services are meeting community expectations.

The inspection continued with a visit to Kodissia Road in the NRI Layout area under Ward No. 28, where the Commissioner reviewed plans for new tar road construction. Addressing urban mobility challenges, he examined proposals for pavement widening at critical congestion points in the Central Zone, specifically at the area opposite Government Hospital under Ward No. 83 and Vincent Road under Ward No. 82. These widening projects are designed to ease pedestrian movement and reduce traffic congestion without disrupting vehicular flow.
