Coimbatore Corporation Annual Medical Camp for Sanitation Workers Begins

Coimbatore Corporation's annual medical camp for sanitation workers and their families commenced at Sithalakshmi Urban Primary Health Centre. On the first day, 250 sanitation workers participated and availed various medical examinations. The camp will continue until July 21.


Coimbatore: The annual medical camp for sanitation workers and their family members, organized by Coimbatore Corporation, commenced today (08.07.2026) at the Sithalakshmi Urban Primary Health Centre premises. On the first day, approximately 250 sanitation workers participated and benefited from various medical examinations.



Every year, the Corporation organizes medical camps for sanitation workers and their family members. This year, the camp is being conducted from 08.07.2026 to 21.07.2026, from 11 AM to 4 PM daily.

Today, at the Central Zone, Sithalakshmi Urban Primary Health Centre premises, the medical camp was held from 11 AM to 4 PM, where various specialized medical examinations were conducted. Specialized medical consultations were provided in cardiology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, orthopedics and physiotherapy, dermatology, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), obstetrics and gynecology.

Various tests were conducted including hemoglobin level detection, blood group identification, blood sugar level, blood cholesterol level, bile secretion, urea creatinine, V.D.R.L, H.I.V sample testing, E.C.G scan, cervical examination, cancer screening, breast cancer screening and several other examinations. Workers requiring further treatment were referred from this camp for advanced medical care.

From tomorrow (09.07.2026) onwards, the medical camp for sanitation workers and their family members will continue at the Sithalakshmi Urban Primary Health Centre premises. The Corporation administration has requested everyone to avail this opportunity.

Today's camp was attended by City Health Officer Dr. Subashkanthi, Corporation Medical Officers, sanitation workers, and many others.
