Coimbatore: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Coimbatore District Police seized around 20.040 kg of ganja, synthetic drugs and arrested 10 persons during a district-wide surprise enforcement drive conducted on Saturday. A total of nine criminal cases have been registered.

The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police Pavan Kumar, IPS, as part of the district police's ongoing initiative to achieve a "Drug-Free Society – Crime-Free Coimbatore."

Based on intelligence inputs, more than 400 police personnel simultaneously conducted searches at over 20 locations, including areas under the jurisdiction of Kovilpalayam, Chettipalayam and Madukkarai police stations.
