Coimbatore Maruthamalai Murugan Temple Hundi Collection Reaches Rs 1.05 Crore with Gold and Silver Jewelry

The Maruthamalai Subramanya Swamy Temple hundi opening witnessed collection of Rs 1 crore 5 lakh cash, 105 grams of gold jewelry, and 5.5 kilograms of silver jewelry as offerings. Temple authorities opened the hundi yesterday in the presence of officials.


Coimbatore: The Maruthamalai Subramanya Swamy Temple hundi opening ceremony recorded a substantial collection of Rs 1,05,52,486 in cash, along with 105 grams of gold jewelry, 5.502 kilograms of silver jewelry, and 25.7 kilograms of brass items as offerings from devotees.

The Maruthamalai Subramanya Swamy Temple attracts devotees not only from Coimbatore but also from various districts across Tamil Nadu, and neighboring states including Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Devotees who visit the temple for darshan contribute their offerings in the form of cash and jewelry through the hundi boxes placed within the temple premises.

The hundi opening was conducted yesterday in the presence of temple officials including Temple Thakkar Jayakumar, Executive Officer Vimala, and other temple administrators. The offerings were carefully counted and assessed by the authorities.

The temple administration expressed satisfaction over the significant amount of offerings received during the hundi opening. According to temple authorities, this collection reflects the deep devotion and faith of devotees who visit the temple for worship. The substantial contributions demonstrate the continued reverence that devotees hold for Lord Murugan at this sacred hilltop temple.

The temple management stated that these offerings will be utilized for temple maintenance, developmental activities, and conducting various religious ceremonies and festivals throughout the year, ensuring better facilities for the growing number of devotees visiting the shrine.
