Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Dengue Control Works Across Multiple City Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja conducted comprehensive inspections of dengue mosquito eradication efforts, rainwater drainage systems, school development projects, and community hall facilities across various zones. He interacted with residents to address grievances and directed officials to expedite pending works for public benefit.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja today conducted extensive field inspections of dengue mosquito eradication drives and various developmental projects being implemented intensively across Coimbatore Corporation areas.

In the South Zone, Ward No. 92, at Idayarpalaiyam division near RKV School on Pazhamudhir Nilayam Street, the Commissioner reviewed rainwater drainage construction work in areas where overflow from the sewer causes flooding during monsoon seasons.



Similarly, he inspected the Corporation Primary School located in the eastern hill area of Sugunapuram under Ward No. 92, examining proposals to upgrade it to a middle school along with building maintenance works. The inspection also covered the indoor sports arena constructed by the Corporation at Balu Garden area, assessing its utilization by youth.


At Krishna Samy Nagar area, after inspecting the community hall built by the Corporation, the Commissioner instructed concerned officials to take necessary steps to construct an additional kitchen facility. In the Government Officers Residential Area under Ward No. 88, he ordered officials to prepare project estimates for new rainwater drainage systems to prevent overflow flooding from sewers during monsoons. Canal desilting works near JJ Nagar were also reviewed.

In the East Zone, Ward No. 8, the Commissioner inspected ongoing dengue mosquito eradication works in Nehru Nagar, part of the Maharaja Extension area. He created awareness among residents, stating, "Dengue mosquitoes breed in clean water. The public must maintain cleanliness in their surroundings."


In the North Zone, Ward No. 13 at Vijaya Nagar area, he examined the rainwater drainage electric motor pump operating area. After listening to grievances from local residents, he instructed officials to expedite the ongoing tar road works and make them available for public use quickly.

During these inspections, Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetrriselvan, City Health Officer Dr. Subhash Gandhi, Assistant Commissioners Dakshinamurthy (South), Dakshinamurthy (East), Executive Engineer Yogachithra (Public Works), Assistant Executive Engineers Sathyamurthy (Public Works), Kanagaraj (Public Works), Ilangovan (Public Works), Councillor Senthilkumar, Zonal Health Officers Murugan, Chandran (Public Works), Assistant Engineers Navaneetakrishnan, Muthukumar, Abishraj, Gopinath, Health Inspectors Balamurugan, Saranya, and several other Corporation officials were present.
