Two persons were arrested and 20 litres of illicit liquor were seized during a raid conducted by the Prohibition Enforcement Wing police near Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district.

Acting on a tip-off that illicit liquor was being brewed in a village near Karumathampatti, the Coimbatore District Prohibition Enforcement Wing police conducted a surprise raid in the area.
During the inspection, police found two persons allegedly involved in brewing illicit liquor.
The suspects were detained and identified as Gopalakrishnan and Sengaliyappan, both natives of Vadugapalayam.
Police arrested the duo and seized 20 litres of illicit liquor that had been stored in cans.
Further investigation is under way.
