Complaint Filed Against Those Defaming DMK Leaders in Coimbatore

DMK's IT wing members in Coimbatore filed a complaint with the District Superintendent of Police, seeking action against individuals defaming party leaders on social media platforms.

Coimbatore: The District Coordinators of the DMK's Information Technology wing in Coimbatore, Ramesh Balan, Kovai Harish, and Suresh, met with District Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan IPS to submit a complaint petition.

In their complaint, they demanded legal action against individuals who consistently misrepresent and defame former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, current Chief Minister Makkaludan Mudhalvar, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, other Tamil Nadu ministers, and DMK functionaries of Coimbatore district on social media platforms.

District Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan IPS assured that the complaint would be investigated and appropriate action would be taken. This action is aimed at preventing the defamation of political leaders and public figures on social media platforms.

The complaint petition is seen as an effort to control the spread of misinformation and defamatory content on social media. The DMK's IT wing members emphasized the necessity of curbing such activities, as they could potentially create divisions in society.

This move highlights the growing concern over the misuse of social media platforms for spreading false information and defamatory content about political figures. It also underscores the importance of responsible use of social media and the potential legal consequences of engaging in online defamation.

The authorities are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly and take necessary steps to address the issue, which could potentially set a precedent for handling similar cases in the future.
