Planned Power Outage in Mathampaalayam Substation Areas Tomorrow

A scheduled power cut will affect several areas in Coimbatore on October 9, 2024, from 9 AM to 4 PM due to monthly maintenance work at Mathampaalayam substation.

Coimbatore: Residents in various parts of Coimbatore are advised to prepare for a planned power outage tomorrow, October 9, 2024. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced that electricity supply will be suspended from 9 AM to 4 PM in several areas served by the Mathampaalayam substation.

The power cut is necessitated by scheduled monthly maintenance work at the Mathampaalayam substation. This routine maintenance is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network in the affected areas.

The areas that will experience the power outage include Pettathapuram, Thanneer Panthal, Kottai Pirivu, Onnipaalayam Road, Arivoli Nagar, Chinna Mathampaalayam, Mathampaalayam, Selvapuram, Shanti Medu, Bharathi Nagar, Saamanaayakkanpaalayam Road, and Kannarpaalayam Road.

TANGEDCO officials have urged residents and businesses in these areas to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions. They recommend unplugging sensitive electronic equipment and making alternative arrangements for any critical power needs during the outage period.

The power supply is expected to be restored by 4 PM, or earlier if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. TANGEDCO has apologized for any inconvenience caused and emphasized that this temporary disruption is essential for maintaining the long-term reliability of the power infrastructure in Coimbatore.

Residents seeking more information or having queries about the power outage can contact the local TANGEDCO office or check the official TANGEDCO website for updates.
