Jamaat-e-Islami Hind's 'Women's Conference' in Coimbatore: Thousands Participate

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organized a 'Women's Conference' in Coimbatore on October 22, 2023, focusing on moral values and family issues. The event, part of a nationwide campaign, saw participation from thousands of attendees.

Coimbatore: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind's 'Women's Conference' was held today at a private marriage hall in the Podanur area of Coimbatore. The event marked the culmination of a month-long statewide campaign centered on the theme "Morality is Freedom."

The conference was part of a nationwide initiative by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind's Women's Wing, conducted throughout September 2024, addressing the growing moral degradation in the country. In Coimbatore, this campaign featured various events including seminars with religious leaders, public meetings, and street corner campaigns.

Omar Farooq, the Coimbatore city president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, presided over the conference. A highlight of the event was a theatrical performance titled "Veli Thaandum Vellaadukal" (Goats Jumping Fences), which addressed contemporary family issues.

Maulavi Muhammad Hanifa Manbai, the Tamil Nadu & Puducherry state president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, delivered a keynote address. He emphasized that human society can progress and achieve excellence only as long as it upholds strong moral values. "In an era where evils like alcohol and drug abuse are on the rise, it is our duty to raise awareness about the importance of a life based on moral values among people from all walks of life, while also setting an example for them," he stated.

The conference saw participation from thousands of attendees, including Jamaat-e-Islami Hind officials, prominent personalities, and women. The event underscored the organization's commitment to promoting ethical living and addressing societal challenges through community engagement and awareness programs.
