Breast Cancer Awareness Rally Held in Pollachi

A breast cancer awareness rally was organized in Pollachi by Manish Cancer Treatment Center and NGM College, marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event included a free screening camp and an awareness march.



Coimbatore: In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a significant event unfolded in Pollachi on Monday. The Manish Cancer Treatment Center, in collaboration with NGM College, organized a breast cancer awareness rally, which was inaugurated by the Pollachi Sub-Collector.

October is globally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As part of this initiative, Dr. Manish Cancer Treatment Center launched a free breast cancer screening camp at their hospital located on Pollachi-Palakkad Road. The camp was spearheaded by Dr. Manivannan, an oncologist, and Dr. Rajatharangani, a surgical oncologist from the hospital.



Pollachi Sub-Collector Catherine Saranya officially inaugurated the camp by lighting a traditional lamp.



Following this, an awareness rally commenced from NGM College on Pollachi-Palakkad Road.



Prior to the rally, participants took a pledge to raise awareness about breast cancer among women.

The awareness rally was flagged off by Shrushti Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police for the Pollachi Division, and Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, the Pollachi Municipal Chairperson.



College students actively participated in the rally, marching through Palakkad Road and Coimbatore Road, effectively spreading awareness about breast cancer.

Organizers of the event emphasized that breast cancer is a growing concern among women's health issues. They stressed the importance of self-examination and urged women to seek medical attention if they notice any symptoms. The organizers assured that with proper treatment, breast cancer can be completely eradicated. They also encouraged women to take full advantage of the free breast cancer screening camp at Dr. Manish Cancer Center.
