GKNM Hospital Launches Specialized Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic and Conducts CME

GKNM Hospital in Coimbatore inaugurated a specialized Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic and conducted a Continuing Medical Education program on managing pulmonary hypertension, attended by over 200 doctors.


Coimbatore: G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial (GKNM) Hospital launched a specialized Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic today, marking a significant step in the treatment of patients with pulmonary hypertension.



The inauguration ceremony saw the participation of key hospital officials, including Dr. Ragupathy Velusamy, CEO of GKNM Hospital, Dr. Santhosh Kumar Dhora, Managing Medical Director, Dr. Santhosh, Medical Director (Operations), Dr. Sambasivam, Head of Cardiology Department, and Dr. Shanmugasundaram, Head of Heart Failure Clinic and Echo Cardiology Department.

The specialized clinic aims to provide early diagnosis and advanced treatment for patients affected by pulmonary hypertension. Coinciding with the inauguration, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop was conducted, focusing on recent advancements and treatment strategies in managing pulmonary hypertension. Medical experts from various departments, including cardiology and pulmonology, delivered comprehensive presentations on pulmonary hypertension with illustrative diagrams. The workshop attracted participation from over 200 doctors.



Dr. Sambasivam, Head of the Cardiology Department at GKNM Hospital, stated that the meeting was organized to create a better understanding of pulmonary hypertension among doctors. He emphasized that the newly launched clinic would significantly benefit patients suffering from pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Sambasivam also highlighted that difficulty in breathing is a primary symptom of pulmonary hypertension, and patients experiencing such symptoms should seek medical attention promptly for proper treatment and recovery.



The establishment of this specialized clinic positions GKNM Hospital as a leading institution in providing comprehensive care for pulmonary hypertension. This initiative is expected to enhance the diagnosis and treatment options available for patients with this condition in the region.
