Adi Tamilar Jananayaga Peravai Stages Protest at Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Office

Over 100 members of Adi Tamilar Jananayaga Peravai staged a protest at Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Office, demanding immediate land allocation for 51 beneficiaries from Scheduled Caste communities in Tirupur district.

Tirupur: The Adi Tamilar Jananayaga Peravai staged a protest at the Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Office in Tirupur district, with over 100 members participating. Led by the organization's founder, Pavuthan, the protesters submitted a petition to the authorities.

The petition highlighted the plight of Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar communities from Veenampalayam, Kallangkattuputhur, and Penangali Valasu areas in Kadayur and Vada Chinnari Palayam villages of Kangeyam taluk. Despite being allotted surplus land in 1994 by the Erode Land Reforms Assistant Commissioner, 51 beneficiaries - 30 from Kadayur and 21 from Vada Chinnari Palayam - have not received proper documentation to cultivate the land.

The protesters demanded immediate issuance of F Patta copies after proper land measurement, enabling the beneficiaries to start agricultural activities. They emphasized that 30 years have passed since the initial land allocation, yet the community members are unable to utilize the land for farming.

The Adi Tamilar Jananayaga Peravai warned of intensified protests if immediate action is not taken. The demonstration saw participation from key figures including C. Karthik, the district executive of Adi Tamilar Sananayaga Peravai, and V.K. Devaraj, the district secretary of Ambedkar Makkal Iyakkam, along with numerous community members.
