Information Minister M.P. Saminathan Inaugurates Jallikattu Bull Statue and Artificial Fountain at Udumalaipettai Roundabout

Information Minister M.P. Saminathan inaugurated a Jallikattu bull statue and artificial fountain at the Udumalaipettai roundabout in Tirupur district. The renovated facility aims to beautify the area and celebrate Tamil culture and tradition.

Tirupur: In a significant development for Udumalaipettai town in Tirupur district, Information Minister M.P. Saminathan inaugurated a Jallikattu bull statue and an artificial fountain at the central bus stand roundabout. The event, which took place yesterday, marks a notable improvement in the town's aesthetics and celebrates Tamil culture.

The roundabout, constructed a few years ago to reduce traffic congestion near the central bus stand, had been in a state of neglect for several months. Responding to public demand for its maintenance and beautification, the municipal administration took action with the help of volunteers.

The newly renovated area now features a statue depicting a Jallikattu bull being embraced by a participant, symbolizing the traditional Tamil sport.

The installation also includes colorful lights, an artificial fountain garden, and Tamil letters, all designed to showcase Tamil pride and heritage.

Additionally, a leaders' park was refurbished under the Namakku Naame scheme with community contribution funds, and the Ashoka Stupa junction was renovated.

Minister Saminathan, who presided over the inauguration, emphasized the importance of preserving Tamil culture and traditions. The Jallikattu bull statue and the artificial fountain have quickly become focal points for visitors, with many locals taking pictures to share with others.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Pollachi Member of Parliament K. Eswaraswamy, Revenue Divisional Officer Jaswant Kannan, Municipal Chairperson Mathin, and Municipal Commissioner Balamurugan, among others.

This renovation project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of Udumalaipettai but also serves as a testament to the town's commitment to preserving its cultural identity while embracing modern urban development.
