Karpagam College of Engineering Hosts YUVA 2024 Freshmen Induction Programme

Karpagam College of Engineering in Coimbatore organized YUVA 2024, a Freshmen Induction Programme for the 25th batch of first-year B.E. Mechanical and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science students on September 18, 2024.


Coimbatore: Karpagam College of Engineering in Coimbatore hosted YUVA 2024, a Freshmen Induction Programme for the 25th batch of first-year B.E. Mechanical and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science students. The event took place on September 18, 2024, at 10:30 am in the college auditorium, marking the beginning of the new students' academic journey.

The programme commenced with the traditional Tamilthai Vazhthu, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and enlightenment. Dr. K. Ravikumar, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, extended a warm welcome to the new students.



Dr. Rajeswari, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. Dr. V. Kumar Chinnaiyan, Principal of Karpagam College of Engineering, felicitated the gathering, highlighting the institution's commitment to academic excellence.

The presidential address was delivered by Dr. R. Vasanthakumar, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Karpagam Institutions. He provided an overview of the organization's achievements over the past year and emphasized the vast development of technology, which has created numerous job opportunities for students. Dr. Vasanthakumar encouraged the freshmen to choose role models like Sir C.V. Raman and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.



The highlight of the event was the motivational speech by the Chief Guest, Dr. Mayileragu K Sundararajan, a renowned educationalist. He inspired the students to take responsibility for their actions and work towards their objectives with consistency and dedication. Dr. Sundararajan stressed the importance of self-appreciation as a crucial practice for personal growth.



During his address, Dr. Sundararajan emphasized that self-appreciation involves recognizing one's strengths, accomplishments, and unique qualities that define an individual. He encouraged the students to cultivate this habit as they embark on their academic journey.



The induction programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kiruthiga, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, followed by the rendering of the National Anthem. The event provided a solid foundation for the students' academic journey and helped them feel more connected to their new environment.



As the freshmen left the auditorium, there was a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation for the academic year ahead. The experiences and connections made during YUVA 2024 are expected to positively impact their upcoming year at Karpagam College of Engineering.
