Thousands Participate in Our Lady of Miracles Church Chariot Procession in Udumalpet

Over a thousand devotees participated in the chariot procession of Our Lady of Miracles Church in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district. The event marked the culmination of a week-long festival with daily prayers and special masses.



Coimbatore: The Our Lady of Miracles Church in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, witnessed a grand chariot procession on Sunday night, marking the culmination of its annual festival. The event, which began on the 8th with a flag hoisting ceremony, saw the participation of over a thousand devotees.

The church, located near Gandhi Square on Thali Road in Udumalpet, had been hosting daily evening events since the festival's commencement. These included rosary recitations, novena prayers, special masses, meditation sermons, and Eucharistic adorations, all starting at 5:30 PM each day.

The final day of the festival began with a special parish mass at 8:30 AM on Sunday.



The highlight of the celebrations, the chariot procession, commenced at 8 PM.



The procession started from the church and wound its way through Pallivasal Street, Thalai Konda Amman Street, Thangammal Odai Road, Pollachi-Udumalpet Road, and Thali Road before returning to the church.



Thousands of devotees participated in the procession, walking in front of the chariot while carrying crosses, lamps, and flowers. The air was filled with the sound of devotional songs and band music as the procession moved through the streets of Udumalpet. Local police were deployed to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event.

The Our Lady of Miracles Church festival, with its week-long celebrations and grand finale procession, stands as a testament to the religious fervor and community spirit of Udumalpet's Christian population.
