Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an inspection of Ward 26 in the North Zone on September 14. The primary focus of his visit was to assess the site for a new stormwater drain project and review existing water supply infrastructure.

The Commissioner first visited the area from Balaguru Garden to Ellaithotam in Peelamedu, where a new stormwater drain is set to be constructed. This project, estimated to cost Rs 30 lakh, will be funded from the Corporation's general fund. Prabhakaran personally inspected the proposed site to ensure proper implementation of the project.

Following this, the Commissioner proceeded to inspect the road leading to Vilankurichi. Here, he examined a valve chamber crucial for water distribution in the area. After assessing the situation, Prabhakaran instructed the concerned officials to adjust the chamber cover to be level with the road surface, ensuring smooth traffic flow and preventing potential accidents.
