Union Finance Minister Launches BJP Membership Drive in Coimbatore's Kaniyur Panchayat

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated a BJP membership drive in Kaniyur Panchayat, Coimbatore North district, on September 12. The event saw several locals joining the party, expressing support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance.


Coimbatore: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) membership drive in Kaniyur Panchayat, which falls under the Sulur Assembly constituency in Coimbatore North district, on Tuesday, September 12.



The event witnessed several local residents joining the BJP as new members in the presence of Nirmala Sitharaman. These individuals expressed their desire for the continuation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's good governance by aligning themselves with the party.

Notable BJP leaders who participated in the membership drive included MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, North District President Sangeeta, Arthi Ravi, Mandal President Mahendran, and Kanagasabapathi Sathyamoorthy, among others.

The membership drive in Kaniyur Panchayat is seen as part of the BJP's efforts to strengthen its grassroots presence in Tamil Nadu, particularly in the Coimbatore region. The party has been working on expanding its base in the state, where it has traditionally had limited electoral success.
