Vinayagar Chaturthi Celebrated with Grandeur in Sulur's Kalangal Village

Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam organized a grand Vinayagar Chaturthi celebration in Kalangal village, Sulur, Coimbatore. The event featured idol installation, annadhanam, and immersion ceremony, drawing large public participation.


Coimbatore: The Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam organized a grand Vinayagar Chaturthi celebration in Kalangal village panchayat of Sulur, Coimbatore district. The festivities began early morning with the installation of Lord Vinayagar's idol at 6 AM, marking the auspicious start of the celebrations.

P. Ranganathan, the president of Kalangal panchayat, graced the occasion with his presence, adding to the significance of the event. The organizers ensured that the installation ceremony was conducted with utmost devotion and adherence to traditional rituals.



As part of the celebration, a special annadhanam (food donation) was arranged at noon. Approximately 500 members of the public were served a nutritious meal, showcasing the spirit of community and sharing that is central to the festival.



The highlight of the evening was the immersion ceremony of the Vinayagar idol. At around 6 PM, devotees gathered at the Chinna Kalangal pond for the immersion. The procession to the pond was filled with devotional songs and chants, creating a festive atmosphere in the village.



The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local residents, who turned out in large numbers to be part of the celebrations. The presence of Lotus Manikandan, a prominent business leader, added to the grandeur of the occasion.

The successful organization of the Vinayagar Chaturthi celebrations by the Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam not only upheld religious traditions but also fostered a sense of unity and togetherness among the villagers of Kalangal. The event served as a reminder of the cultural richness and community spirit that define such festivals in rural Tamil Nadu.
