Three arrested for serial thefts in Sulur; 19 sovereigns of gold jewellery recovered

Coimbatore police arrested three individuals involved in a series of thefts in Sulur area. The operation led to the recovery of 19 sovereigns of gold jewellery and a two-wheeler.


Coimbatore: The Sulur police station had registered multiple cases following a series of thefts in and around the Sulur area of Coimbatore district. In response to these incidents, Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan ordered the swift apprehension of the culprits.

A special team was formed under the leadership of the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Karumathampatti sub-division. The team conducted an intensive investigation, including scrutiny of previous offenders.

The investigation led to the questioning of three suspects from Tiruppur district: Imran (36), Abuthahir (36), and Hakeem (40). Upon interrogation, it was revealed that these individuals were connected to the recent crime cases.

The special police team subsequently arrested the three suspects. They recovered 19 sovereigns of gold jewellery and a two-wheeler, which were linked to four cases registered at the Sulur police station.

The accused were produced before the court on September 7 and remanded to judicial custody.
