Applications Open for Temporary Firecracker Shops in Coimbatore District - District Collector

Coimbatore District Collector announces online application process for temporary firecracker shops ahead of Diwali. Applications accepted from September 7 to October 10 through e-Seva centers.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Administration has announced that those interested in setting up temporary firecracker shops in the district for Diwali can apply online from September 7 to October 10. This initiative aims to streamline the application process for temporary firecracker licenses in rural areas of the district, excluding corporation limits.

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, in a statement released on Wednesday (Sept. 6), said that with Diwali festival scheduled for October 31, individuals wishing to establish temporary firecracker shops in rural areas of the district, excluding corporation limits, must obtain a temporary firecracker license from the Coimbatore District Revenue Officer under the Explosives Act Rules 2008. As per government orders, the process will be implemented through a single-window system starting this year.

The Collector emphasized that applications will only be accepted online. Interested parties can apply through e-Seva centers from September 7 to October 10, providing all necessary documents. This move to an online application system is expected to make the process more efficient and accessible for applicants.

The administration's proactive approach in announcing the application process well in advance of Diwali is aimed at ensuring smooth operations for temporary firecracker shops while adhering to safety regulations. This system is expected to benefit both the applicants and the authorities by providing a clear, structured process for obtaining the necessary permits.
