Freshers Welcome and Orientation Program at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College

Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in Coimbatore hosted a two-day welcome and orientation program for first-year students on September 5th and 6th. The event featured guest speakers and emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning.


Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in Coimbatore organized a two-day welcome and orientation program for first-year students on September 5th and 6th. The event took place on the college campus and was inaugurated by Principal A. Soundararajan, who welcomed all attendees.

Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, presided over the function. N.R. Alamelu, Director of Education at SNR Sons Trust, delivered a special address.



On the first day, Saya Balasubramaniam, Head of Human Resources Development Group at Alstom Coimbatore, attended as the chief guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of students maintaining a keen interest in learning to embrace technological changes. He stressed the significance of strengthening fundamental skills in the tech world and urged students to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available on campus.

The second day of the event featured Harish Jankiraman, Director of Embedded-Guru LLC from Texas, USA, as the chief guest. He began his address by advising students to always be prepared for interviews. Drawing analogies from the Mahabharata, he highlighted the importance of engaging the body, soul, and mind in action. He concluded by encouraging students to develop reading habits to stay informed about current trends.



Honorary guests included alumni from the 1996-2000 batch: Sakthi Vel Rajasekar, Director of Human Resources Development Group at Cognizant Technology, Coimbatore, and Palaniappan Somasundaram, Director of Engineering Arm Embedded Technologies India Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. They provided valuable insights on how students should approach their four-year degree program and highlighted various companies' expectations, which proved beneficial for the students.

The event also included the distribution of special guest certificates and prizes to current students who have achieved excellence in various fields.
