Coimbatore: A Tamil teacher at Lathangi Matriculation School near Pollachi has been arrested for assaulting a 12th-grade student who modified a Purananooru verse during class. The incident occurred on May 3rd at the school located on the Pollachi-Palladam Road.

According to reports, Tamil teacher Sureshkumar was conducting a class for 12th-grade students when he instructed them to write a verse from Purananooru, an ancient Tamil poetic work. A 17-year-old student in the class allegedly modified the verse while writing it.
