EONIX'2K24: Tamilnadu College of Engineering's ECE Department Inaugurates Student Association

Tamilnadu College of Engineering's Electronics and Communication Engineering department inaugurated EONIX'2K24 on September 3, 2024. The event showcased innovative projects, including a robot made from basic electronic components.


Coimbatore: The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department of Tamilnadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, inaugurated its student association EONIX'2K24 on September 3, 2024. The event, attended by students from II, III, and IV years of the ECE department, was presided over by Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institutions.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with a prayer song by II-year students, followed by the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Student chairman S. Sangameshwar delivered the welcome address, encouraging junior students to actively participate in future departmental activities.

Dr. C Kalamani, HoD of ECE Department, Dr. N. S. Sakthivel Murugan, Principal, and Dr. Prince, Director-Placement of Park Institutions, felicitated the gathering. The chief guest was Ms. Bharani Murugan, an alumna of TCE (Batch of 2009-2013) and currently a Senior Associate – Technical at Cognizant Technology Solutions.

In her presidential address, Dr. Anusha Ravi inspired students with testimonies of prestigious alumni working globally. She highlighted alumni involvement in space programs like the Chandrayaan project and their current role in India's Aditya space mission in collaboration with the European Space Agency. Dr. Ravi emphasized the importance of skill development and encouraged students to set future goals.

Chief Guest Ms. Bharani Murugan motivated students to overcome their fears and develop communication skills essential for the corporate world. She also discussed the wide range of employment opportunities available for ECE graduates, emphasizing their versatility in embedded and IT industries.

The event included the distribution of certificates to winners and runners-up of various technical and non-technical competitions held as part of the ECE Association activities. EONIX'2k24 showcased students' innovative projects and creative ideas.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of II-year ECE students Logith MM, Gokul S.V, and Matheshwaran M for creating an innovative robot using basic electronic components such as LED, diode, transistor, capacitor, and PCB board.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by student secretary P. Evangeline Shilpu, who acknowledged the collective effort in making the event a success. The inauguration ceremony ended with the Indian National Anthem.
