Mobile Veterinary Units Launched in Coimbatore: District Collector and MP Inaugurate

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and MP Ganapathi Rajkumar inaugurated five mobile veterinary units on Monday. These units will serve Coimbatore city and suburban areas, providing medical care to livestock.

Coimbatore: The Animal Husbandry Department has introduced 1962 mobile veterinary units across Tamil Nadu, with five of these units being launched in Coimbatore on Monday. The inaugural ceremony took place at the Coimbatore District Collector's office, where District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati and Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar officially flagged off the initiative by handing over the keys to the mobile units.

These mobile veterinary units are set to operate in Coimbatore city and its suburban areas, bringing essential veterinary services closer to the livestock owners. The primary objective of these units is to provide medical care to animals in villages where access to veterinary facilities is limited.

According to officials, the mobile units will operate from Monday to Friday, visiting all villages in the district to offer medical treatment to livestock. The vehicles are equipped with facilities to perform minor surgical procedures, ensuring comprehensive care for animals in need.

The introduction of these mobile veterinary units is expected to significantly improve animal healthcare in the region, particularly benefiting farmers and livestock owners in remote areas. This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to enhancing animal welfare and supporting the agricultural community in Coimbatore district.
