Massive Blood Donation Camp at Pollachi Government Hospital

Students of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering in Pollachi organized a large-scale blood donation camp at the Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital, in collaboration with the blood bank.


Coimbatore: In a commendable initiative, students of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering in Pollachi joined forces with the blood bank at Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital to organize a massive blood donation camp. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the college's Red Cross and NSS students.

Dr. Marimuthu, the Medical Officer of Pollachi Blood Bank, led the hospital team at the camp. The team included nurses Annakodi, Anuradha, Thilagamani, nursing supervisor Dhanalakshmi, and lab specialist Mahalakshmi. Additionally, nurses from Kanjampatti Primary Health Center and nursing college students from Trichy, who were visiting the Pollachi District Headquarters Hospital, also took part in the camp.



The blood donation drive was a resounding success, with 200 students and college staff members stepping forward to donate blood. This significant contribution will greatly benefit the Pollachi District Government Headquarters Hospital's blood bank reserves.

The collected blood will be utilized free of charge for various medical needs at the hospital. It will primarily serve patients undergoing childbirth, those requiring surgical procedures, and individuals admitted due to accidents. This noble act by the students and staff of Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering will undoubtedly save many lives and contribute to the well-being of the community.
