Hindu Munnani's Coimbatore North District unit held a protest near Veerapandi Pirivu bus stop, condemning attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and demanding central government action.

Coimbatore: The Hindu Munnani's Coimbatore North District unit staged a protest near the Veerapandi Pirivu bus stop in Periyanaickenpalayam, condemning the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and urging the central government to take action to prevent such incidents.

Last week, Hindu Munnani had sought permission from the police to hold a protest against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and to demand central government intervention. However, the Tamil Nadu police had denied permission, citing potential law and order issues.

Following this, Hindu Munnani approached the Madras High Court seeking permission to hold the protest. The court granted permission for protests to be held across Tamil Nadu between 3 PM and 4 PM today.

In accordance with the court order, Hindu Munnani members held protests across Tamil Nadu. In Coimbatore, the protest near Veerapandi Pirivu bus stop began precisely at 3 PM and concluded before 4 PM.

The protest was led by Kotta Secretary Uruvai Balan, with Kotta Secretary Rajkumar presiding. District Secretary Murugan welcomed the gathering and delivered a speech. Hindu Munnani State Spokesperson Singai Prabhakaran gave a special address.

The protesters, carrying placards, raised slogans demanding protection for Hindus in Bangladesh. They highlighted the destruction of Hindu temples and the plight of Hindu women and children in Bangladesh who are living without proper security.

The demonstrators urged the central government to ensure the safety of Hindus' lives and property in Bangladesh. They emphasized the need for immediate action to protect the religious rights and security of the Hindu minority in Bangladesh.

The protest saw participation from over 100 members of Hindu Munnani and Hindu Auto Munnani, including General Secretary Thyagarajan, Media Coordinator Jaikarthik, District Secretary Padaiyappa (aka Muthukumar), District Treasurer Ashok, and District Coordinator Thambi Saravanan. Vishnu from Hindu Auto Munnani delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.
