Coimbatore: The Coimbatore South District Vishwakarma Community Welfare Association organized its 12th annual Poonool (sacred thread) changing ceremony on August 19. The event, coinciding with Aavani Avittam, took place at the Sakthi Vinayagar Temple in Maachampalayam Thirunagar, Coimbatore.

Sri Sri Sivashanmuga Babuji Swamigal, the Peetadhipathi of Sri Nagasakti Amman Peedam in Malumichampatti, inaugurated the ceremony. The event saw over 500 participants receiving their sacred threads while chanting the Gayatri Mantra.
