Flood Waters Surround Amanalingeswarar Temple at Thirumoorthy Hills, Udumalpet

Heavy rains in Thirumoorthy Hills caused flooding at Panchalinga Falls, surrounding the Amanalingeswarar Temple. Pujas suspended for public safety as temple staff engage in protective measures.

Tirupur: The Amanalingeswarar Temple at the foothills of Thirumoorthy Hills in Tirupur district has been surrounded by flood waters from the Kattaru river due to heavy rains in the catchment areas of Panchalinga Falls.

The catchment areas of Panchalinga Falls, including Jallimuthan Rock, Gurumalai, Kuzhipatti, and Thoni River, have been experiencing heavy rainfall. This has led to a flood situation at Panchalinga Falls, causing the Kattaru river to swell and surround the Amanalingeswarar Temple located at the base of the hills.

As a precautionary measure for public safety, all pujas at the temple have been suspended. Temple authorities have taken this decision to ensure the well-being of devotees and staff members.

The continuous rainfall in the region has prompted temple employees to engage in protective measures. They are currently working to safeguard the temple premises and its valuable assets from potential flood damage.

Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have advised residents and visitors to stay away from the flooded areas. The resumption of regular temple activities will depend on the improvement of weather conditions and the receding of flood waters.
