AIADMK MLA Accused of Land Fraud by Family Heirs in Coimbatore

Over 30 heirs from a single family filed a complaint against Singanallur MLA and others for allegedly fraudulently selling their ancestral property in Coimbatore, despite an ongoing court case.



Coimbatore: A group of more than 30 heirs from a single family have lodged a complaint against the current AIADMK MLA of Singanallur constituency, Coimbatore, accusing him and his associates of land fraud involving their ancestral property.

The complainants submitted their petition at the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's office, alleging that the MLA, along with his relative and a private individual, had fraudulently acquired and continued to sell their ancestral property. They claimed that this was happening despite an ongoing case in the court regarding the matter.



The heirs also sought permission to stage a token hunger strike to bring the issue to the state government's attention. According to their statement, the fraud occurred about 10 years ago when the heirs of Kalikkonar claimed that several crores worth of land belonging to them was misappropriated by creating fake documents for deceased individuals as if they were alive.

The complainants further alleged that the accused were now selling housing plots to the public under the name "Sri Sakthi Garden," misleading potential buyers. They requested action against those involved in the fraudulent sale of house sites and asked for permission and protection to conduct a one-day hunger strike to raise awareness about the issue.

The heirs specifically named Singanallur MLA Jayaraman, his relative Manikandan, and Sri Vari Real Estate company as the three parties involved in the planned fraud of their properties. They expressed frustration that despite previous complaints, no action had been taken. The complainants questioned how the accused could continue selling properties while the case was still pending in court and claimed they were being threatened. They stated that if anything were to happen to their lives, the three accused should be held responsible.
