DMK's Unauthorized Pandal Obstructs Main Road to Udumalaipet Government Hospital, Causing Inconvenience to Ambulances and Motorists

DMK workers erected a pandal on the main road leading to Udumalaipet Government Hospital for an MP office inauguration, causing difficulties for ambulances and motorists. The incident sparked public outrage.

Coimbatore: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party workers have come under fire for erecting an unauthorized pandal on the main road leading to the Udumalaipet Government Hospital in Tiruppur district. The obstruction caused significant inconvenience to ambulances and other vehicles trying to access the hospital.

The incident occurred on V.O.C. Street in Udumalaipet, which houses several government and private hospitals. The pandal was set up for the inauguration of the office of K. Eswaran, the DMK MP representing the Pollachi parliamentary constituency. Tamil Nadu Information Minister M.P. Saminathan was present to inaugurate the office.

The pandal, constructed in the middle of the road, forced ambulances and other vehicles to take a 500-meter detour to reach the hospital. This unauthorized obstruction of a crucial public road has drawn severe criticism from local residents and social activists.

Many citizens expressed their anger over the DMK's disregard for public convenience and safety, especially considering the vital nature of the road leading to healthcare facilities. They pointed out that such actions not only inconvenience the public but could potentially endanger lives in emergency situations.

Local authorities are yet to comment on the incident or take action against those responsible for erecting the unauthorized structure. The incident has raised questions about the enforcement of traffic rules and the apparent impunity with which political parties can disrupt public spaces for their events.
