Power Outage Announced for Peelamedu, Kovilpalayam, and Samathur Areas in Coimbatore Tomorrow

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced power cuts in several areas of Coimbatore on August 8, 2023, due to monthly maintenance work at substations in Peelamedu, Kovilpalayam, and Samathur.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has announced power outages in various parts of Coimbatore on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, due to scheduled monthly maintenance work at three substations.

The Peelamedu substation will undergo maintenance from 9 AM to 4 PM. Areas affected include Peelamedu Pudhur, Bharathi Colony, Nanjundapuram Road, Sowripalayam, Ganapathy Industrial Estate, Puliyakulam, Ramanathapuram, Avarampalayam, parts of Trichy Road, Udayampalayam, and Meena Estate.

Kovilpalayam substation maintenance is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM. The power cut will affect Sarkar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam, Kurumbapalayam, Manikkam Palayam (Co-India area), Vaiyampalayam, Agrahara Samakulam, Kottai Palayam, Kondayampalayam, Kunnattur, Mondakaliputhur, and Kalipalayam.

Samathur substation will also have maintenance work from 9 AM to 4 PM. Areas that will experience power outages include Aval Chinnampalaiyam, Samathur, Palayur, Thalavaipalaiyam, Ponnapuram, Nachipalayam, Ponnachiyur, Jamin Kottampatti, Pilchinnampalayam, Vadukapalayam, and Kurinjeri.

The TNEB has advised residents and businesses in these areas to plan accordingly for the scheduled power interruptions. Normal power supply is expected to resume once the maintenance work is completed.
