Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced that Kerala-bound trains will be diverted via the Podanur-Irugur route due to maintenance work on the Salem railway track.

According to the press release, the Alappuzha-Dhanbad Daily Express (Train No. 13352) and the Ernakulam-Bengaluru train (Train No. 12678) will not run on their regular routes on specific dates in August due to engineering maintenance work. Instead, these trains will be operated on an alternative route.

This change will be implemented on August 8, 10, 13, 15, and 17, which fall on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On these dates, the specified trains will be operated via the Podanur-Irugur route.

As a result of this diversion, the aforementioned trains will not pass through Coimbatore Junction. Instead, Podanur railway station will serve as a temporary stop, as stated by the railway administration.

The railway authorities have requested passengers to plan their journeys accordingly, taking these changes into consideration. For further details, passengers are advised to contact their nearest railway stations.
