'Tarang Shakti' Air Exercise to Begin Tomorrow in Sulur, Coimbatore

The Indian Air Force is set to conduct 'Tarang Shakti' exercise in Sulur, Coimbatore from August 6 to 14. 51 countries invited, with 10 nations participating actively in this multinational air exercise.


Coimbatore: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is gearing up to host a significant multinational air exercise named 'Tarang Shakti' at its base in Sulur, Coimbatore district. The exercise is scheduled to commence tomorrow, August 6, and will continue until August 14.

The IAF has extended invitations to a total of 51 countries for this prestigious event. Among them, air forces from 10 nations, including Germany, France, Spain, and Britain, are confirmed to participate actively with their aircraft. This exercise is designed to showcase India's domestic defense capabilities and foster international military cooperation.

Following the Sulur phase, the second stage of the exercise will take place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from September 1 to 14. Notably, Russia, a close ally of India, was also invited but declined participation due to the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

Alongside the air exercises, a "Made in India" exhibition will be organized at both Sulur and Jodhpur. This exhibition aims to highlight India's advancements in indigenous defense production and technology, aligning with the country's push for self-reliance in the defense sector.

The 'Tarang Shakti' exercise is expected to enhance interoperability among participating air forces, exchange best practices, and strengthen diplomatic ties through military cooperation. It also serves as a platform for India to demonstrate its growing prowess in air defense and combat readiness on the global stage.
