Coimbatore Collector Flags Off VRF Consignment for Wayanad Flood Relief

Coimbatore District Collector flagged off a Virtual Rescue Force (VRF) consignment containing essential supplies for flood-affected Wayanad. The relief materials include back home kits, utensils, and protective gear.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector today flagged off a substantial consignment of relief materials organized by the Virtual Rescue Force (VRF) for flood-affected areas in Wayanad, Kerala. The initiative, operating under the slogan "Tamil Nadu for Wayanad!", aims to provide essential support to those impacted by the recent floods.



The relief package includes 500 back home kits, each containing towels, bedsheets, nighties/lungis, and toiletries such as toothpaste, brushes, soaps, shampoo, and coconut oil. Additionally, the consignment comprises 250 steel plates, 250 steel tumblers, 46 pairs of boots, 50 kg of bleaching powder, 500 innerwear items, and 1000 gloves.



Dr. Vidhya Rajan, founder of VRF, highlighted the collaborative effort behind this initiative. She mentioned that VRF team members from various parts of India and abroad made significant contributions. RAAC Raveendran played a crucial role in coordinating NGOs to meet the needs of the affected areas.



The relief effort saw participation from diverse groups including the Federation of Coimbatore, several city apartments, SVHP Residents, Hirotec, ELCE, doctors from CMC and Coimbatore, the 1998 batch of CMC, Rathinam Institutions, and MESSER. Dr. Rajan emphasized the cumulative role played by these organizations in assembling the consignment.

ELCE Chairman Dr. PS Rajan and C4TN Manian were present during the flag-off ceremony. Adding to the relief efforts, MESSER Tools contributed 10 gas cutters to the consignment, further enhancing the rescue and recovery capabilities in the flood-affected regions.



This coordinated effort demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and support extended by Coimbatore to the neighboring state of Kerala in its time of need.
