DMK Rule Always Equates to Rowdy Rule, Claims Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan

Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan criticizes DMK government for poor park maintenance, delayed Semmozhi Park project, and increasing rowdyism during a press meet in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan made strong statements against the ruling DMK government during a press meet in Coimbatore on Thursday. The BJP leader was speaking after inaugurating a gymnasium at Anna Park in Swarnambal Layout, Ram Nagar.

Srinivasan expressed concern over the poor maintenance of parks under the Coimbatore Corporation. "Despite providing buildings and playgrounds through MLA development funds, the Corporation administration fails to maintain them properly. I have personally met with the Commissioner regarding this issue," she said.

The MLA also commented on the delayed Semmozhi Park project, stating, "The government plans to relocate the Central Prison and create a grand Semmozhi Park in its place. However, no alternative site has been identified for the prison. When will the Central Prison be shifted, and when will we see a complete Semmozhi Park? Currently, only a small portion of work is underway after a grand foundation stone laying ceremony."

Srinivasan leveled serious accusations against the DMK government, saying, "The DMK rule has always been synonymous with rowdy rule. Tamil Nadu is witnessing a rise in contract killing gangs, and there are no measures to control this. When questioned, ministers respond casually to these concerns."

She also criticized the increasing trend of building resorts without proper permissions, allegedly with the support of political leaders, disregarding environmental concerns. "It is only through the verdicts of the Green Tribunal and High Courts that forests and mountains are being protected. The Western Ghats are as ancient as the Wayanad rainforests," she added, urging the government to monitor adherence to regulations strictly.

Addressing the drug menace, Srinivasan called for concrete action beyond mere pledges against drug abuse by the Chief Minister and administration officials. She concluded by asserting that the BJP-led central government would fulfill each promise made by the state BJP president Annamalai.
