New Anganwadi Building and Free Bicycles Distribution in Mettupalayam Constituency, Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Mettupalayam constituency MLA A.K. Selvaraj led two significant events on July 31, marking progress in rural development and education in the region.



In Maruthur Panchayat of Karamadai Union, a bhoomi puja ceremony was held for the construction of a new Anganwadi building. The project, valued at Rs. 14 lakhs, is being implemented by R.D. Trust on behalf of ITC Company. Ward members Ranganathan and Chitra, along with branch secretary Thangavel and Rajamanickam, were present at the event.

On the same day, at Thambu Higher Secondary School in Veerapandi Town Panchayat, MLA Selvaraj distributed 196 free bicycles to students. This initiative is part of the Tamil Nadu government's scheme to support students' education. The distribution ceremony was attended by K.V.N. Jayaraman, Eastern Union Secretary of Periyanaickenpalayam, City Union Secretary Ramdas, branch union members, and school headmaster and teachers.

These events underscore the government's commitment to enhancing rural infrastructure and supporting educational initiatives in the Mettupalayam constituency.
