Pollachi Municipal Council President Intensifies Dengue Mosquito Eradication Efforts

Pollachi Municipal Council President Shyamala Navaneeth Krishnan conducts door-to-door inspection, intensifying dengue prevention measures amid recent heavy rainfall in the region.


Coimbatore: In response to the recent heavy southwest monsoon rains in Pollachi and its surrounding areas, the municipal administration has intensified dengue eradication measures. Today, Pollachi Municipal Council President Shyamala Navaneeth Krishnan conducted a door-to-door field inspection in areas including Kumaran Nagar under the municipality's jurisdiction.

During the inspection, Shyamala Navaneeth Krishnan checked water tanks in houses for stagnant water and mosquito larvae. She advised residents to keep their homes and surroundings clean to prevent mosquito breeding. The council president stated that over 80 dengue prevention workers are going door-to-door throughout the municipality, spraying insecticides to eliminate mosquito larvae.



Shyamala Navaneeth Krishnan also mentioned that officials have been instructed to distribute Nilavembu Kashayam, a herbal concoction known for its fever-reducing properties. She assured that all necessary measures are being taken to make Pollachi a dengue-free city.

The inspection team included municipal council members Nagaraj, Kavitha, Duraibai, and other DMK executives who accompanied the council president during the dengue prevention drive.
