Park College of Engineering and Technology Inaugurates Centre for Foreign Languages

Park Group of Institutions launched a Centre for Foreign Languages at Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, on July 25, 2024, to enhance students' global competitiveness and language proficiency.


Coimbatore: The Park Group of Institutions inaugurated its Centre for Foreign Languages at Park College of Engineering & Technology, Kaniyur, Coimbatore on July 25, 2024. The initiative aims to enhance students' language proficiency and global competitiveness in today's interconnected world.

The inaugural function was held at the College Auditorium. Dr. Prince, Director for Placements at Park Institutions, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institutions, for her vision to establish the foreign languages centre on campus. He provided an overview of the foreign language course curriculum and its integration into college hours.

Sathish Kumar, GM of Park Institutions, along with Dr. D Lakshmanan, Dr. Sakthivel Murugan, and Dr. Kumaresan, principals of the group's three engineering colleges, felicitated the gathering.

Dr. Anusha Ravi, in her address, shared that the Centre had been her dream for a couple of years. She encouraged students to enhance their skills for better career prospects, citing the example of an alumnus, Kamalesh, who secured a 1 crore salary package a decade ago. Dr. Ravi emphasized the importance of learning additional languages, drawing from her experience in America where students are required to learn three additional languages as part of their curriculum.

The CEO announced that the foreign language centre would be open to all four years of engineering students and encouraged faculty members to join the courses as well. She also revealed plans to establish an Incubation Centre at the college to facilitate research activities, assist in obtaining patents for student innovations, and support budding entrepreneurs.

The function concluded with Dr. Anusha Ravi releasing the foreign languages book included in the curriculum.
